Hey everyone,
WOW! What great news. I want to inform you on whats going on. Today was our first official GTD Costa Rica meeting and what an amazing summer mission trip this will be. Let me give you a little update. We are planning on leaving in late June and returning early August. Dates are not set in stone but it looks like June 23rd through August 08, 2009. I'm so excited.
I want to give you a heads up on whats going on and what I will be doing. First this great program that is helping places around the world know Christ and enjoy Gods great outdoors in return. Here is there web site to learn more. http://www.goingthedistance.org/ ...... Okay, now for the cool stuff. I, along with 9 others will be entering San Jose, Costa Rica this summer and traveling 4 hours to another city to set up camp. We are staying at a campsite there. Our first week or so will really be equating to Costa Rica. Then our first trip will be to the Northern Costa Rica/ Southern Nicaragua Border to help another church group do construction on a community there in the mountains. The cool part is we have to hike to the city. How cool!?! Then after that trip we all will be returning back to the ranch to meet another church group. There we will be leading and assisting GTD on the many tasks for the projects (unknown) for this church group from Colorado. After that project we will be doing public work in our area, I believe. Lastly before returning we will be working with another church group from Tampa, and then returning home.
I want to be honest. I really don't know what to expect. However, I am choosing to live under the recently discovered motto, "Expect Nothing, Gain Everything." Most of you know this past fall I was in Tanzania, Africa for 4.5 months. That motto came very true. Now of course this is a short trip, yet I am positive it will require a much larger work load of not just sharing my faith but working my but off. In this, others not only know what God has offered but also sees that there are others, even in the richest country in the world, that care about their well being. Let's be honest and real. Many of the areas around the world are poorer than the poorest in the US. By going on this mission trip I along with the others will be an example of our faith while making a difference.
Guy's, I love Christ because he has given us a chance to live forever with out obligation, free by his sacrifice on the cross. In that when we die, we will go to Heaven and be seated next to God. If you want to know more email me @ christnnoles@aol.com.
I want to tell you this trip is not about me. I have prayed long and hard and clearly God has given me a passion to serve others so that He may be glorified. Please stay tuned for future updates.
